The Qasr El-Nil court imposed a fine of LE 10 thousand ($1,679) each on former Deputy Prime Minister Yehia El-Gamal and journalist Hossam Abd El-Hady in the defamation lawsuit filed by the head of television news section, Abd El-Latif El-Minawy.

El-Minawy objected to El-Gamal's statement in the Rosa Al-Yousef newspaper interview by El-Hady that he had used his position in state television to serve the interests of the former ruling National Democratic Party and wasted public funds.
