Egypt's Meteorological Authority announced on Sunday that thunderstorms and heavy rain will hit the country starting Tuesday, with unstable weather peaking on Thursday and Friday.

Rain and thunderstorms are expected along the northern coast as well as in the Nile Delta, Cairo and Sinai.

Light rain is expected in northern Upper Egypt with a drop in temperature.

The Meteorological Authority warned of a dense mist in the early morning along highways across the country on Monday and Tuesday.

The authority also stressed in its statement that all the governors should take the necessary precautions to prepare for the impact of heavy rains.
