At least 17 conscripts were injured in a road accident in North Sinai on Wednesday, Ahram Arabic website reported.

Sources in North Sinai governorate told Ahram Online that the conscripts suffered various injuries when two vehicles collided on the international coastal highway in North Sinai governorate.

The conscripts were taken to El-Arish Military Hospital for treatment.

Road accidents occur on a near-daily basis in Egypt, which is notorious for poorly maintained infrastructure and loosely enforced traffic regulations.
