Cold and rainy weather is expected to continue in Egypt on Friday, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) said after the country was hit with heavy rain and hail on Thursday.

Lower temperatures are expected along the eastern coast, with unstable conditions for maritime navigation on the Red Sea and the Gulf of Suez.

The Mediterranean and the Red Sea are expected to see moderate to stormy weather, with waves ranging from two to 2.5 metres in height.

Cairo will see a high of 17 degrees Celsius and a low of 9 degrees, while Alexandria will witness a high of 16 degrees and a low of 8 degrees.
