Unseasonably warm weather to continue in Cairo, Nile Delta Thursday

Warm weather is expected to continue Thursday in Cairo and the Nile Delta, with moderate weather expected across the north coast during daytime and cold weather forecasted at night nationwide, the Egyptian meteorological (EMA) authority said on Wednesday.

In the statemnet reported by state news agency MENA, the EMA said fog might affect vision in the early mornings along the north coast, in the Nile Delta, Cairo, Suez Canal City, as well as central Sinai.

Cairo temperatures forecast a high of 23 degrees Celsius and a low of 14, while Alexandria will see a high of 14 and a low of 8.

Windy weather is expected in the Mediterranean Sea, resulting in moderate to turbulent conditions for navigation with average wave heights of 2-2.5 metres. Red Sea waves will be moderate with average heights of 1.5-2m.

The Red Sea cities of Marsa Alam, Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada will witness warmer weather with an average high of 24 and a low of 16.

Upper Egyptian cities will mostly see weather similar to Cairo, with average temperatures registering 28 high and 13 low in Aswan and Luxor, and 16 high and 14 low in the governorates of Assiut, Sohag and Minya.

Light rainfall is expected in the country's eastern cities.

Egypt weather, particularly in Cairo and the Nile Delta, has been witnessing unseasonably warm weather since Monday.
