The minister of tourism Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour said that some supra-constitutional principles, such as respect for human rights, are non-negotiable

In statements to Al-Arabiya news network, Egyptian Minister of Tourism Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour said that all the national political powers have declared their position on the supra-constitutional principles and that reaching an agreement does not mean consensus.

The minister of tourism and former long-time member of the liberal Wafd party added that there are supra-constitutional principles that are non-negotiable, such as human rights, equality between citizens, and citizenship rights.

On the other hand, Islamists parties and powers refused for the second time the invitation from Dr. Ali El-Salmi, the deputy prime minister for political affairs, to discuss the supra-constitutional principles document proposed by the government, after it has caused a lot of controversy among political powers in Egypt over the past two weeks.

Dr. Ali El-Salmi declared last week that the supra-constitutional principles documents can be amended.
