Egypt has condemned the terrorist attack in Barcelona, Spain on Thursday that killed at least 13 people and injured more than 30 others, Egypt’s foreign ministry said in a statement.
The foreign ministry offered Egypt's condolences for the families of the victims and wished a swift recovery for those injured in the attack.
The ministry also expressed Egypt's solidarity with the Spanish government and people against terrorism, adding that these attacks will not bend the will of governments or peoples in fighting terrorism.
The statement also called on all countries to take serious and immediate steps to end terrorism and target its sources of funding.
On Thursday, a van ploughed into crowds in Barcelona's Las Ramblas avenue in the city centre. A suspect of a Moroccan origin was arrested following the attack, according to Spanish police.
