Hot weather forecast for Egypt next week

Egypt will have a week of warm weather starting next Sunday, with daytime temperatures rising by 5-7degrees Celsius, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority has said.

During the spring, which begins this year on 21 March according to astronomical calculations, Egypt is expected to see four to six sandstorms, known as khamaseen, and marked by sudden risem, then decline in temperatures of around 10-15 degrees in temperatures, the head of EMA Ali Abdel Al said in a statement on Wednesday.

Weather will remain relatively cool over the next three days.

Cairo and the Nile Delta governorates are forecast to see highs of 24 degrees and lows of 15 degrees on Thursday. Highs across these areas are predicted to rise by 1-3 degrees over the weekend while lows will remain the same.

Weather in the cities along the Mediterranean coast, including Alexandria and Marsa Matrouh, will see highs of 22-23 degrees and lows of 13-15 degrees on Thursday, with a slight rise of 1-2 degrees in highs over the weekend

Highs in the northern part of Upper Egypt, including the governorates of Minya and Fayoum, are expected to average between 27 and 30 degrees over the next three days, while lows are predicted at 13-14 degrees. The southern part of the region, where the ancient cities of Luxor and Aswan are located, will see highs of 35 and steady lows of 19.
