The Egyptian Army on Sunday referred suspects to the public prosecution on charges of inciting the clashes between the military and protesters on Qasr El-Aini Street, which have left 10 dead since Friday morning.

The suspects include nine women, according to the state-run news agency MENA.

They face charges of setting a number of buildings on fire, assaulting military and police personnel, and throwing stones and Molotov cocktails.

More than 500 protesters have been injured after the Army clamped down on a sit-in outside the Cabinet offices off Qasr El-Aini Street early Friday, a short distance from Tahrir Square.
