Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi arrived on Saturday to Saudi Arabia ahead of the 29th Arab Summit scheduled to start on 15 April in Damam, Al-Ahram reported.
El-Sisi will address with his Arab counterparts a number of issues of mutual interest, including Arab national security in light of recent developments, Egyptian presidency spokesperson Bassam Rady said in a statement to Al-Ahram.
Rady said that El-Sisi will discuss with Arab leaders the situation in Yemen, Libya, and Palestine, as well as other regional issues.
The summit in Damam, dubbed ‘Arab Reunification,’ will aim to find solutions to various Arab crises.
The gathering will also tackle counterterrorism efforts as well as efforts to "strengthen joint Arab action in the face of foreign interference in Arab affairs."
On Wednesday, Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry travelled to Riyadh for preparatory meetings ahead of the summit.
