Hamas movement in Gaza condemned on Saturday the attacks targeting a church in Alexandria causing the death of at least 21 people.

The movement declared ina press statement that those who planned the attacks aim to stir sectarian strife in Egypt.  It added that Hamas was extremely grieved to hear the news of the attacks and the deaths of more than twenty Egyptians.

The explosion went off about a half-hour after midnight as worshippers were emerging from a New Year's Mass at the Saints Church in Sidi Bishr, Alexandria, killing 21 people and injuring 79 others.
