Hundreds of women have already gathered at the Alexandria Bibliotheca to march to El-Mansheia protesting military violence. The march comes after pictures and videos of military soldiers brutally beating and stripping a women protester near naked in Tahrir Square circulated on social media sites and appeared in newspapers.

More than 10,000 women already marched in Cairo Tuesday, moving from Tahrir Square to roam all around downtown chanting against military violence and rule. Similarly, other women decided to take the same initiative. calling for women to demonstrate in other governorates including Alexandria.

The Alexandria women march will move from the Alexandria Library to Mansheia Square where a screening of the military’s violations against women on 18 December will be held.
