Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi answered Sunday, on the second day of the Sixth National Youth, questions sent by Egyptian youth on the situation in Palestine, Libya and Syria as part of the Presidential initiative, "You ask and the president will answer."

In the session, El-Sisi answered several questions about the Middle East peace process and the so-called "Deal of the Century."

"The [Deal of the Centry] term only surfaced in the media. Egypt's stance on Palestine has been constant," said El-Sisi.

El-Sisi stated that Egypt would accept what the Palestinian people accept and that its position is based on UN Security Council resolutions and international law.

"Egypt supports a Palestinian independent state based on the borders of pre-June 1967 with a capital located in East Jerusalem," he said.

The Egyptian president also spoke about how Egypt has a clear stance on the situation in Gaza, saying that there are people there, above and beyond Hamas and Fatah.

Egypt has declared its support for reconciliation between Hamas and Fatah in Gaza and has been hosting rounds of talks between the two fighting Palestinian factions.

It also has opened recently Rafah Crossing between Gaza and Egypt to allow the movement of passengers and goods for longer times. Rafah is the only crossing that it is not controlled by Israel in besieged Gaza.

Concerning the situation of Libya and Syria, El-Sisi said that Egypt does not support the existence of militant militias in neighbour countries and that it supports Libya's national army.

The Egyptian president also expressed his wish that Libya would have elections as soon as possible.

Concerning Syria, El-Sisi said that Egypt supports the talks between the Syrian government and opposition forces.

"We do not interfere in other countries' internal issues, nor do we plot against other countries," he said.

The "You ask and the president will answer" initiative received over 700,000 questions with over two million visits since the announcement of the latest round of the initiative that allows citizens to question the president directly.
