Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi arrived in the new Saudi megacity Neom on Tuesday and held talks with King Salman bin Abdulaziz according to the Saudi Press Agency.

The two leaders discussed Egyptian-Saudi bilateral relations during the unannounced visit.

The talks were attended by Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman and the head of Egypt’s intelligence service Abbas Kamel.

Following the talks, the two leaders had lunch with the attendance by a number of Saudi officials.

King Salman has been staying in Neom city since July.

The Neom city project, which involves the creation of a huge transnational city and economic zone, covers 26,500 square kilometres in Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Egypt.
