Egypt's Sisi to visit Crete on Wednesday for tripartite summit with Greece, Cyprus

Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi will visit Crete, Greece on Wednesday to participate in the sixth round of the tripartite summit of the leaders of Greece, Cyprus and Egypt, the Egyptian presidency announced.

The summit aims to build upon what has been achieved in the past five summits as well as evaluate cooperation between Egypt, Greece and Cyprus in different fields.

The summit also will discuss boosting political talks and consultations between the three countries on facing common threats in the Middle East and the Mediterranean region.

The visit will also include a meeting between President El-Sisi and Greek PM Alexis Tsipras to discuss bilateral relations.

President El-Sisi will also meet with Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades to discuss boosting economic and commercial relations between the two countries.  

The tripartite summit was first held in Cairo in 2014.
