Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi met with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Berlin on Monday for discussions that included the return of German tourists to Egypt and how to boost bilateral trade.
A number of European countries, including Germany, introduced restrictions on flights to Sharm El-Sheikh over security concerns after a Russian passenger jet crashed in Sinai in 2015, killing 224 people, most of whom were holidaymakers.
Germany lifted the restrictions in 2016.
The two leaders also discussed energy, infrastructure and electricity projects, and the latest regional updates.
El-Sisi arrived in Berlin on Sunday for a four-day official visit. He has met with a number of German officials so far to discuss issues of mutual concern.
During his visit, he is expected to participate in the G20 Compact with Africa summit.
