Activists demand release of journalist Abou Doma

Activist Abou Doma is charged with inciting violence during clashes at the Cabinet sit-in in December

The April 6 Youth Movement held a protest at the Journalist’s Syndicate on Tuesday to demand the release of activist Ahmed Abou Doma.

Doma has been arrested on charges of inciting violence against the army during clashes between protesters and army soldiers on 16 December, following the violent dispersal of a three-week sit-in at the Cabinet headquarters in Cairo.

Doma, a member of the Youth for Justice and Freedom Movement, was sentenced to 30 days pending investigation on Friday.
