Two ports in Alexandria governorate closed due to bad weather

Ahram Online , Monday 17 Dec 2018

The Alexandria Port Authority has said two major Mediterranean ports will remain closed on Monday due to bad weather conditions.

Boughazi and Dekheila ports were initially shut down on Friday after the Egyptian Meteorological Authority recorded a rise in wave height and an increase in wind speed that might pose problems to maritime navigation.

The meteorological authority has forecasted rain in Alexandria on Monday.

High waves and heavy winds are expected to cause turbulent conditions in the Red Sea and the Mediterranean, the authority said.

Alexandria will witness a high of 21 degrees Celsius and a low of 12 on Monday.
