Egypt's FM Shoukry discusses with Fatah's Rajoub latest Palestinian developments

Egypt's foreign minister Sameh Shoukry discussed on Thursday with  General Jibril Rajoub, the secretary general of the central committee of Palestinian Fatah movement in Cairo the latest developments concerning the situation in the Palestinian territories and the ways to boost the revival of the Peace process in the Middle East.

According to the Egyptian foreign ministry's statement about the meeting, the two officials discussed as well the latest discussions and developments concerning the national Palestinian reconciliation.

During the meeting, minister Shoukry asserted Egypt was insisting on its stance supporting the Palestinian cause that the Palestinian people should restore their lawful rights above them the right to establish their independent state with the East Jerusalem as its capital.

From his side, Rajoub appreciated the vital role Cairo was currently playing in the Palestinian issues adding that he was looking forward to more coordination and consultation with Egypt in the upcoming period.
