Egypt has expressed its sincere condolences to the families of the victims of floods in Indonesia, according to a Monday statement by the foreign ministry.
On Sunday, the natural-disaster-prone country was hit by an earthquake, triggering a landslide that hit a popular waterfall on the tourist island of Lombok, killing at least three people and damaging hundreds of homes, the AP reported.
Officials in the country said on Monday that the death toll had risen to 79 after torrential downpours triggered flash floods and mudslides that tore through mountainside villages, with dozens of others missing.
The Egyptian statement also wished for the speedy recovery of those injured.
It also highlighted Egypt's solidarity with the government and people of Indonesia in this crisis.
