Egypt’s non-petroleum exports to the United States stood at $1.6 billion in 2018, almost 15 percent more than the previous year, Egypt’s trade and industry ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.

US imports to Egypt, meanwhile, went up by more than 26 percent to $5.56 billion in the same year, as opposed to $3.9 billion the year before, the statement added.

This means that trade volume between the two countries, of both petroleum and non-petroleum products, amounted to $7.5 billion, up 34 percent from 2017.
