Catholic Church in Egypt condemns Sri Lanka blasts

The Catholic Church in Egypt has condemned blasts that occurred at a number of churches in Sri Lanka earlier Sunday and killed about 160 persons.

A series of explosions on Palm Sunday also left more than 140 persons wounded, according to the latest toll.

"The Catholic Church in Egypt condoles with the families of the victims for the deaths and wishes the injured a speedy recovery", it said in a statement.

"The Catholic Church in Egypt prays for love and peace in the face of death and terrorism", the statement added.
