Egypt is sending humanitarian assistance to Mozambique, Malawi and Zimbabwe to help them overcome the adverse effects of Cyclone Idai, the foreign ministry said on Friday.

The move is being implemented on the instruction of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, in solidarity with the African countries.

The aid includes tents and food as well as pharmaceutical assistance, and will be delivered in cooperation with the Egyptian armed forces.
