Pope Tawadros II has expressed his greetings to Al-Azhar's Grand Imam Ahmed El-Tayyeb and all Muslims on the advent of Eid Al-Fitr in a visit by the head of Egypt’s Coptic Orthodox Church and a church delegation to Al-Azhar on Saturday.

Eid Al-Fitr will take place from Tuesday to Thursday.

"The exchange of greetings between Al-Azhar and the Church on religious occasions reflects the brotherly relations and cohesion among the people of the homeland,” said El-Tayyeb.

The church delegation wished good health and wellness to El-Tayyeb and all Muslims, and security for Egypt and Egyptians.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Religious Endowments Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa, Grand Mufti Shawki Allam, the acting deputy of Al-Azhar Saleh Abbas, the president of Al-Azhar University Mohammad Al-Maharsawi, and a group of Al-Azhar officials.
