Dead fish found on Egypt's North Coast shores, recalling fears of Mediterranean pollution

The governorate of Marsa Matrouh says it received notification from the tourist resort of Marina that three large-sized fish, each three metres long, were found dead on the shore.

The type of fish could not be determined but the case resembles that of two years ago when hundreds of dead fish were cast ashore due to poisoning related to pollution in the Mediterranean.

Similarly, in early March 2010 a 12-metre whale was found dead on Egypt's North Coast shores.
