President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said the Egyptian citizen is the "real hero of the battle of existence."
In a closing ceremony at the seventh National Youth Conference, held in the New Administrative Capital, El-Sisi said that the nation continued to face challenges as it seeks peace.
"The country faced and continues to face major threats due to its geographical position and history," El-Sisi said.
The president heaped praise on the youths who have defended their land, researchers seeking knowledge, and other factions of society.
El-Sisi also announced the recommendations of the conference, which include turning a simulation model of the Egyptian state into a permanent dialogue mechanism with the involvement of the government.
The recommendations also include establishing youth task group to follow up on the implementation of the national mega projects under the cabinet's supervision, and adopting a plan to work on the development of Alexandria's Ras El-Tin area.
El-Sisi has also called on the government to finalize a municipalities and senate bills.
