Egypt's Grand Imam Ahmed El-Tayyeb has offered his greetings to President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and the Egyptian people on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha.
El-Tayyeb also extended his sincere greetings to Arab and Islamic nations on the occasion, MENA reported.
In a statement on Saturday, El-Tayyeb urged all Arab and Muslim nations to avoid division, and said he hopes that peace and stability will prevail in Egypt.
Islamic holiday Eid Al-Adha begins on Sunday; the pre-Eid holiday the Day of Arafah falls on Saturday.
Eid Al-Adha coincides with the hajj pilgrimage to Mecca and celebrates the willingness of the prophet Abraham to sacrifice his son in obedience to God’s will.
Banks in Egypt are closed from Sunday to Tuesday.
