193 statues and a sarcophagus were recovered by Egypt's police
Egypt's security forces uncovered a gang consisting of 22 criminals illegally working in archaeological excavation near the archaeological sites in Giza.
The criminals had discovered a Pharaonic cemetery dating back to the Fourth Dynasty, and excavated some of its artefacts.
Police forces arrested four of the criminals in possession of 193 statues and a large sarcophagus.
Police notified the General Prosecution and the Ministry of Antiquities.
