Egypt's Minister of Irrigation Mohamed Abdel Aati has reviewed Cairo’s bilateral cooperation with all countries and means of exchanging expertise in the water field.

He also talked about the latest developments of Ethiopia’s Renaissance Dam and Egypt’s proposals with regard to filling and operating the dam’s reservoir, especially during periods of drought in a way that serves the interests of all sides.

The minister made the remarks during his participation in the Budapest Water Summit, currently held in Hungary’s capital with the participation of around 2,000 senior officials concerned.

During meetings on the sidelines of the conference, Abdel Aati discussed Ethiopia’s rejection of discussing any binding rules for the two parties as well as of the existence of international mediators.

He also held bilateral meetings with the Hungarian and Algerian ministers of water resources in addition to his counterparts from Iraq, Oman, Senegal, Jordan, Palestine, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

During the meetings, the minister discussed prospects of joint cooperation in the water field.
