Egypt’s Chamber of Tourism Establishments will participate with a high-level delegation in the World Travel and Tourism Market (WTM) scheduled to be held from 4 to 6 November.

The WTM is a UK event for the global travel industry to meet industry professionals and conduct business deals. It creates personal and business opportunities, providing customers with quality contacts and communities.

Head of the chamber Adel Masri said the Egyptian delegation at the London market will use the exhibition to introduce visitors and investors to the tourism activities of restaurants and tourist establishments in Egypt.

Masri added the delegation would work to build a platform of cooperation to attract new investments for the food industry and restaurants, in addition to providing an opportunity to meet with tourism authorities and travel agencies to identify the recent global trends in the tourism industry.

Despite the collapse of Thomas Cook, Egypt relies heavily on British tourism -- approximately 400,000 British tourists visit Egypt annually. Member of the Board of Directors Sherif Sadek pointed out the coming winter season will see more influx of British tourists than the last seven years.

It is explained by the desire of many British tour operators and travel agencies to send tourist groups to Egypt via charter flights from the British market to Luxor and Aswan as well as Sharm El Sheikh.
