Egypt's Permanent Representative to the Arab League Alaa Roshdi has stressed the country's firm stance towards the Palestinian cause and support of all efforts aiming at reaching a final settlement that would allow the Palestinians to regain their legitimate rights and establish an independent state.
Roshdi was speaking on Thursday during a ceremony held by the Arab League on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.
During his remarks, he said that Egypt is committed to providing all forms of support to the Palestinian cause.
He added that during the last urgent Arab summit in Saudi Arabia, President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi had asserted that stability could not be achieved in the region without a comprehensive, peaceful solution that meets the aspirations of the Palestinians.
Egypt is doing its utmost to ease the suffering of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and counter any attempts to destroy the enclave, Roshdi added.
