Egypt's Shoukry discusses latest GERD developments with UAE, Oman officials

Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry discussed on Tuesday the latest developments concerning the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam talks with Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan in Abu Dhabi.

According to the statement by the Egyptian foreign ministry, Shoukry passed a message from President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi to UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan.

The UAE supports Egypt and everything that protects its national security, the crown prince said, according to the statement.

Shoukry then travelled to Muscat where he was received by Omani Foreign Minister Yousef bin Alawi.
He handed over a message from El-Sisi to Sultan Haitham bin Tariq concerning developments in the GERD talks.

Shoukry has been on a regional tour this week, visiting Jordan, Iraq, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia to discuss the Nile mega-dam issue.
