Tens of workers in Cairo's Ramses railway station staged a strike since 6 am Wednesday morning to demand their bonuses, preventing trains from travelling between the capital and a number of governorates.

The strikers threatened to continue the industrial action until their demands are met.

Authorities at the station were forced to recall all tickets and to reimburse the irate passengers. Officials began negotiations with the workers to ensure trains run as normal.
