Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry discussed latest developments on Palestinian issues with King Abdullah of Jordan on Sunday in Amman, where the pair reasserted their countries’ total rejection of any unilateral Israeli action concerning the annexation of the West Bank, the Egyptian foreign ministry said.
According to the Egyptian statement, King Abdullah and Shoukry asserted that any unilateral Israeli actions would have huge consequences for the peace process and for the stability of the Middle East in general.
Shoukry and King Abdullah also discussed the latest developments in bilateral relations and cooperation in different fields, particularly the medical field, in light of the coronavirus pandemic.
King Abdullah said he is looking forward to the upcoming summit between the heads of states of Egypt, Jordan and Iraq.
Shoukry had arrived in Amman on Sunday, and held a meeting with Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman El-Safadi.
Shoukry will head afterward to the Palestinian capital of Ramallah where Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will receive him.
