Egypt detected 126 new coronavirus cases on Friday, reporting a total tally of 105,159 cases since the outbreak began in February.
The health ministry also reported 11 new deaths, bringing the total deaths from the virus to 6,099.
The statement said that 78 patients had been discharged from hospitals in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries to 98,089.
Despite the drop in cases, Egyptian authorities have warned that the country has not yet emerged from the crisis despite the fall in new cases and deaths, urging strict adherence to preventive measures nationwide.
The government has repeatedly urged caution to avoid a second wave of the pandemic, particularly with the advent of autumn.
