Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi said on Monday that Egypt wishes for further constructive cooperation with Orange and other French companies given the strategic ties between Egypt and France and the outstanding French expertise in all fields.

El-Sisi made the remarks during a meeting with Stéphane Richard, the chairman of the global mobile phone network Orange. The meeting was attended by Telecommunications Minister Amr Talaat and senior officials from Orange, presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said.

Richard said that his company is keen to expand its activities in Egypt to benefit from the promising investment opportunities offered by the Egyptian ICT sector, the qualified cadres, and the Egyptian initiatives aimed at localising technology in different governorates.

The meeting explored cooperation with the French company in the ICT sector, and tackled boosting Orange investments in the fields of telecommunication services and applications for smart cities in addition to offering smart services to promote financial inclusion.
