Lawsuit againts controversial TV anchor and station owner Tawfiq Okasha has been adjourned to 3 October.

Okasha arrived at the Cairo Criminal Court Saturday morning to face a lawsuit filed by a number of lawyers accusing him of inciting violence against Egypt's President Mohamed Morsi.

Okasha was received with chants by his supporters insisting he is innocent. Later clashes took place between his supporters and his opponents.

On 10 August, Egyptian authorities accused Okasha, a presenter and head of the Faraeen satellite channel, of calling for the violent overthrow of President Morsi, following complaints against the anchor from a number of lawyers and revolutionary figures.

Authorities ordered that the Faraeen channel cease transmission for at least a month.
