Egyptian economic and political reforms will top the agenda when British Foreign Secretary visits Cairo this week, the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) says.
William Hague arrived in the Egyptian capital on Tuesday morning for his first visit to the country since President Morsi's election in June.
"The talks will discuss [Mohamed] Morsi's efforts to strike a balance between [state] authorities in Egypt," an FCO spokesman told Ahram Online, adding that bilateral relations will be also broached.
"We will discuss how the UK can support the political and economic transition in Egypt and further expand our commercial links," Hague said on arriving in Cairo.
The UK Foreign Secretary will meet senior Egyptian politicians, including President Morsi, Prime Minister Hisham Qandil and Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr.
He will also meet representatives of the British business community and will address an event for young entrepreneurs held at the British Embassy in downtown Cairo.
