Former Brotherhood leader calls for justice for Maspero martyrs

Ex-deputy of the Muslim Brotherhood's supreme guide welcomes pardon issued by Morsi for political prisoners but says nation must seek retribution for crimes committed against Maspero protesters

Mohamed Habib, the former deputy of the Muslim Brotherhood's supreme guide, welcomed via Twitter president's recently decree of pardoning all political prisoners, but expressed indignation that criminals are still not punished" on

the first anniversary of the bloody Maspero clashes which left 27 protesters, mostly Coptic Egyptians calling for equal rights, dead.

"The silence that overshadows the Maspero massacre, the absence of retribution is a crime against the whole nation," Habib wrote.

On Monday night President Mohamed Morsi issued a decree to release all political prisoners that were arrested, on trial or detained for taking part in pro-revolution events since the 18-days uprising till 30 June.
