Khalil El-Aqid, who denies reports that he is Khairat El-Shater's bodyguard, received prison sentence for possessing an unlicensed firearm

A man believed to be a bodyguard of Muslim Brotherhood’s second-in-command, Khairat El-Shater, was given a one year sentence for possessing an unlicensed firearm by a Cairo criminal court on Tuesday.

Khalil Osama El-Aqid was referred by prosecutors to trial in January. He denied he was El-Shater's bodyguard, reported the state-run MENA news agency.

Several pictures were published by the media showing Al-Aqid escorting El-Shater. Another picture showed him wearing a military uniform and carrying a gun.
