Egypt’s new council of ministers sends sharp message to thugs that have been terrorizing citizens: They propose death sentence in a bill to be ratified by the military council

A new law was discussed by Egypt’s newly appointed Prime Minister Essam Sharaf, in the ministerial cabinet’s first meeting today. The law will inflict severe punishment, including execution, to those found guilty of particular crimes.

The bill has been passed to the Supreme Council of Armed Forces to be ratified.

Egyptians have been terrorized by thugs since 28 January, known as the “Friday of Rage,” when reports that jails and prisons were opened by now ousted President Mubarak’s entrenched political party, the National Democratic Party.
