Egyptian authorities deported three reporters from Al Jazeera English on Sunday, DPA reports. The reporters were deported after being arrested four days earlier on charges of covering events in Egypt with unlicensed devices and without obtaining the necessary approvals.
Official sources at Cairo airport said that three correspondents are "Wayne High" (New Zealandian) and "just Bradlo" (British) and "Ross Finn" (Irish). The reporters were deportedon the plane flying to London without any of the devices that have been seized with them.
Egyptian authorities have banned Qatari channel Al Jazeera Mubasher Misr from working in the country on the allegation that it does not have legal permits to work in the country.
Al Jazeera has earned the wrath of many Egyptians who opposed the rule of the Muslim Brotherhood for its reported anti-government coverage in recent weeks.
