Egypt's agriculture minister signed a petition on Saturday calling for army chief Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi to nominate himself for the presidency, reported Reuters' Aswat Masriya website.
Agriculture minister Ayman Abu-Hadid signed the petition while on a visit to the Nile Delta governorate of Kafr El-Sheikh when approached by the campaign's coordinator there, Aswat Masriya said.
The campaign, entitled 'complete your favour,' was launched shortly after El-Sisi announced the removal of former president Mohamed Morsi from power due to mass protests against him in July.
The campaign claims to have collected over 15 million signatures. Among its supporters are former MPs Mostafa Bakry and Mohamed Abu Hamed.
