Former US assistant secretary of state for political-military affairs Mark Kimmitt has said Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi's upcoming visit to the US is very important, given the strong relations with Egypt.
Speaking to Extra News channel on Monday, the Bush-era official said El-Sisi and US President Donald Trump are expected to discuss bilateral relations and cooperation in the fight against terrorism.
One-on-one meetings are very important, Kimmitt said, adding that it is good that El-Sisi will be in Washington for talks with Trump.
El-Sisi is beginning a three-day visit to the US on Monday.
It will be his second official visit to Washington and his seventh to the US since he assumed office in 2014.
