Unidentified suspects have set fire to the headquarters of the campaign of presidential hopeful Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in Sharqiya governorate on Monday, MENA reported.
Major General Sameh El-Kilani, security head of the governorate, has received a notice from the campaign coordinator in Minya Al-Qamh city early on Monday.
The public prosecution is currently investigating the incident according to the state news agency.
Unidentified groups have also set fire to El-Sisi's campaigns in Cairo and other governorates.
El-Sisi himself also said that he had faced two assassination attempts, confirming rumours of plots to kill the general who deposed Islamist president Mohamed Morsi this past July.
Egypt's elections are scheduled to be held on 26 and 27 May.
Hamdeen Sabahi and Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi are Egypt's final contenders for the 2014 presidential race.
Elections campaigning began on 3 May and will last extend to midnight on 23 May.
A committee, consisting of representatives from the ministries of endowment, media and education as well as the police's general investigation department and the Egyptian Anti-Corruption Agency will monitor any violations of the campaigning policy after 23 May.
