El-Sisi honours military graduates in Alexandria

President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi has presented prizes to army and navy students at a ceremony in Alexandria.

El-Sisi was appointed defence minister in August 2012 by president Mohamed Morsi. He led Morsi's removal amid mass protests in July 2013.

He resigned from his military position in order to stand for president.

El-Sisi was sworn in as Egypt's eighth president on 8 June after winning an overwhelming election victory with almost 97 percent of the votes.
