Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi will visit Saudi Arabia on Sunday, Egypt's ambassador to the kingdom Afifi Abdel-Wahab said on Thursday.
El-Sisi will meet King Abdullah in Jeddah for talks that will include the latest developments in the region and bilateral relations between the two countries, Abdel-Wahab told Al-Ahram's Arabic news website.
King Abdullah last paid a very short visit of only a few hours to Egypt in June, where he was met in his airplane by El-Sisi.
Saudi Arabia has been one of the major regional and internationall supporters of Egypt financially and politically since the ouster of president Mohamed Morsi last summer.
The oil rich Gulf kingdom called for a donor's conference to aid Egypt financially shortly after El-Sisi won the presidential election in May. The donor's conference is expected to be held by the end of this year.
