Egyptian presidential hopeful Amr Moussa, secretary-general of the Arab League, announced today that, as an Egyptian citizen, he supports the nomination of Mustafa El-Fiqi as his successor. Moussa, however, stressed at the same time that as the current secretary-general, he should maintain a neutral position. Moussa's statement came during his visit to Aswan as part of his presidential campaign.
Egypt's nomination of El-Fiqi has stirred a lot of criticism as he is considered by many to be a relic from the Mubarak regime
