Egypt President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi on Thursday instructed the Al-Ahram organisation to organise a conference on youth participation in politics.

El-Sisi, speaking during the celebrations of Egypt’s Farmers’ Day, said that he would inaugurate the youth conference himself.

He emphasised the importance of the participation of young people in political life, adding that such participation shouldn't stop at voting in elections.

He added that young people should also stand for election in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

With dates yet to be set, the elections are planned to take place before the end of this year.
