Two bombs exploded in different cities in the Nile Delta province of Sharqiya, causing damage but leaving no casualties, state news agency MENA reported.
The first explosion occurred when an improvised bomb went off on the railway tracks in the southern district of Belbeis, damaging the tracks, provincial security chief Sameh El-Kilany said.
A second blast took place on a parked public bus in the western city of Minya El-Kamh.
The blast caused serious damage to the bus but left no casualties as the bus was empty, the senior official added.
Bombings and shootings have become common place in Egypt amid, with attacks by Islamist militants spiking since the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi last summer.
Attacks by militant groups have mainly targeted the police and the military, killing hundreds, but have also led to civilian casualties.
